The 1st certified MSC company in the NL. The smokehouse is still located where they started in 2000, on the Wittenburgergracht, a few doors towards the Scheepvaartmuseum. If you walk past them and they are busy, you can smell the wonderful scent of traditionally smoked fish and meat.
Frank’s adventure started back in 1984, in Sweden. There he learned to smoke trout and was fascinated by that simple archetypal form of conservation. In Amsterdam he started a hobby smokehouse in the backyard that grew into a smokehouse with now the largest range of smoked delicacies in the Netherlands. What they smoke is always sustainble: organic, line caught, wild shot, MSC, free range or Label Rouge – whatever applies.
